CHARLOTTE BYRD is a sophomore at Klein Collins High School where she is active in choir, orchestra and drama. She was voted Outstanding Musician in the Freshman A Cappella Choir last spring and Outstanding Soloist in both their UIL competition & D/C Festival competition in South Padre Island. Charlotte enjoys musical theater and recently performed in ACE Theatre's production of Bye Bye Birdie. Currently, she is serving as costume crew head for Klein Collins upcoming production of The Foreigner.JENNIFER JONES is a senior, attending Cy-Fair High school and has performed in numerous musicals and has played parts such as Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz" and Elphaba from "Wicked" at Cypress Academy of Performing Arts. She has also been enrolled in her school choir since fifth grade. Jennifer would like to thank her friends and family for all their love and support.
RAUL DOMINGUEZ is a Junior at Klein High School. He's been singing for 5 years now and has recently gotten involved with musical theatre. Getting involved with Crazy For You at Klein High School was his introduction to musical theatre last year. He has also played Rick Forster in Give My Regards to Broadway. Currently Raul is playing Jesus Christ in a production of Godspell for the Houston Family Arts Center.
HANNAH MILLER is a sophomore at Klein Collins. She is very active in her choir and is beginning to become active in theater. She recently performed in Bye Bye Birdie with ACE theater. As a freshman she placed 6th at Pre-Are auditions and was 1st at NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) in musical theater. She would like to thank her mom and voice teacher Bob Collet for helping her.
CAITLIN READER is a junior at Klein Oak High School, where she is active in the Drama Department. Caitlin also participates in theatre at Playhouse 1960 & the Houston Family Art Center (HFAC). Her most recent role was Tess in Crazy For You. Outside of theatre she's involved in Spanish Club, National Charity League, and the International Baccalaureate program.
JESSICA PEREZ is a sophomore at Klein Collins. She has been singing for a very long time! She's very active in choir and does many shows outside of school and plans to audition for our musical "Beauty and the Beast." She really loves to play the piano, having played for almost 12 years now.
REAGAN LEWIS is a sophomore attending Cy-Woods High School and has performed in numerous musicals and plays at Cypress Academy of Performing Arts under the direction of Maggie Ford. Some of Reagan's roles include Galenda in "Wicked", Audrey in "Little Shop of Horrors" and Lady Larkin in "Once Upon a Mattress". Reagan also participates in her high school choir.
JESSICA VAN DONGEN is a senior at Klein Collins High School. She was born in South Africa, but the US is now her home. Jessica is actively involved in choir, theatre, and speech and debate. This will be Jessica's 4th year to compete in the Texas AllState Choir competition. Both theatre and musical theatre are close to her heart and she has been privileged to represent Klein Collins in speech and debate. She is the assistant to the youth worship director at Spring Tabernacle. Using her musical talents in worship has allowed her to grow spiritually and she loves serving the Lord.
JACKSON PERRIN is a freshman at Klein Collins. He has been singing most of his life, two years with the Houston Boys Choir, and over 30 Musicals at venues such as the Houston Grand Opera, TUTS, Main Street Theater, Cy-Fair College, Klein Collins H.S., HFAC, and Playhouse 1960. He is happy to be making his Culture Shapers debut with so many of his friends.
LOUIS ADAMS-DIAZ is a senior at College Park High School in Conroe. When he was 8, he signed up for the Houston Children's Chorus. “In that choir is where my vocal abilities shined,” he says. He has traveled all around in the world singing for different people, including Bill Clinton and the current president and his father.
About the Judges...
Lynn Jordan
Conductor, singer, keyboardist and teacher, Lynn Jordan has been musically active for over 30 years in a variety of music venues in both Houston and Las Vegas. In addition to teaching privately, Ms. Jordan also teaches public school music, as well as serving as a United Methodist Music Director.Ms. Jordan received her Bachelor of Music degree, cum laude, in Vocal Music Education, from the University of Houston and continued graduate studies in Choral Conducting both there and at Southwest Texas State University. Recently, she completed a course of study at SMU's Perkins School of Theology to become a Certified Director of Music in the United Methodist Church and had the opportunity to study with such notables as Rosemary Heffley, Michael Hawn, Jane Marshall, and Alice Parker.
In recent years, Ms. Jordan has served as Music Director/Worship Leader for churches in the Houston area and has been a member, section director, and patron for the Houston Choral Society for several years. She holds memberships in several music organizations and is also the mother of five grown children and the grandmother of two lively grandsons. She currently resides in Tomball, Texas.
Sandra Campbell
Soprano Sandra Campbell appears regularly with Houston Grand Opera. She has appeared in over 50 Houston Grand Opera productions including Carmen, as Frasquita, The Coronation of Poppea as Valetto, and as Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro. Ms. Campbell has toured in nine productions with Houston Grand Opera’s Opera to Go!, including Hansel and Gretel as Gretel, and The Magic Flute as Pamina. Additional opera credits include Adina in The Elixir of Love with Beaumont Civic Opera, Adele in Die Fledermaus, and Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte. Ms. Campbell’s musical theatre credits include Anne in A Little Night Music, Luisa in The Fantastiks, Laurie in Oklahoma, and Rosamund in The Robber Bridegroom. Roles in Vanities and The Good Doctor are among her acting credits. Ms. Campbell has also appeared as a soloist in Mozart’s Solemn Vespers, the Vivaldi Gloria, and as Gabriel in The Creation with the Houston Choral Society. Ms. Campbell is currently Executive Director of Houston Grand Opera’s Opera to Go, and Executive Director of Houston Grand Opera’s Storybook Opera, a program which she created. She resides with her husband and 7 year old daughter in Kingwood, Texas.Dr. Christopher Ortiz
Dr. Christopher Ortiz is a first tenor with the Houston Symphony Chorus. Chris holds degrees in vocal performance and conducting from The University of Houston. He has sung with various professional and volunteer groups in Houston and around Texas, including Houston Masterworks Chorus, Houston Grand Opera and Conspirare.Internationally, Chris has sung with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Minera and the Robert Shaw Festival Singers, featured on Telarc recordings. Chris has been active in choral singing since his days at Jersey Village High School.
