About the Jurors...
Barbara Chadwick-Bland - I am a full-time clay artist currently doing a six month residency at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. I hold a Bachelors and Masters degree in fine arts and have taught various art courses at the college level.Nikola Reynolds - I come from a background primarily in 2 dimensional art and now work with 3 dimensional craftwork so the use of mixed media and the techniques involved in "raising the work from the page" are visually exciting to me. The use of multiple media allows the students to stretch and explore their ideas and boundaries.
Amy Weber - I graduated from California Institute of the Arts in 1983 (the dark ages). I ran my own business in textiles in New Mexico for 15 years, as well as worked with an organization dedicated to getting arts into schools after budget cuts eliminated art teachers in elementary schools. Since moving to Houston , I have worked as the Education Director/Program Manager for Houston Center for Contemporary Crafts.
Houston Center for Contemporary Crafts is dedicated to "promoting education about the product, process and history of craft." Craft is defined as work primarily in clay, glass, metal, wood, fiber or mixed media.
