Thanks for everyone who participated and made this years wine auction very successful. We had about a dozen or so pieces of art for sale and many were purchased. I don’t know the exact amount, but something north of $1,000 was sold. Additionally, it was our second best auction with net proceeds of $15,000.

Where everyone placed and money won are now posted. Anda Brown was the BIG WINNER being a DOUBLE FIRST PLACE WINNER (Mixed Media & Sculpture) and taking home $10,000 to go along with her previous year’s winnings of $5,500 for a nice haul of $15,500!

All the due dligigence and phone calls have been made! Tickets are being mailed. On Saturday or more probably Monday, 90 students will get their tickets to the BIG DANCE (10 tickets for the top ten finalists and 5 tickets for 11-15) December 2nd.

We are now doing the “due diligence” and that process will continue until Nov. 16th at which time we will post the TOP TEN in each category.
We also now begin the process of deermining our Heart In Art Award candidates as well as teacher and administrator awards. We invite your recommendations for those three awards.
What IF there are no violations, no copyright infringements, and no disqualifications at all and the TOP TEN of the judges remains as of November 16th? IF that turns out to be the case, then we already know the following 3 pieces of data-

The judges have spoken and we know the TOP TEN, but that information will be on hold until after the probationary period and confirmation calls to teachers and parents. After due diligence has been completed we will pull down 11-15 and TEN pieces of art will remain in each category, but no one will know [...]
We came back with 58 pieces of unclaimed art. Let us know if someone didn’t pick us as planned.
Tomorrow, we post the 15 finalists in each of the six categories. If there are no problems during this probationary period (copyright violations, etc.) we’ll then post the top ten after a 48 hour period.

The fourteen hour Saturday when we took in 1,500 pieces of art was long; however, the fourteen hour Sunday when we judged the pieces and returned some 1,400+ was even more hectice. Did we ever need that extra hour of sleep Sunday am when we moved our clocks back an hour.

The WE is all you teachers, administrators, students, and staff. Jayla Davis and Bob Mosier were symbols of so many other teachers who worked from 8 am to 6pm, eating at their work station, and giving 100%+.
