The Birdies for Charity program is held in conjunction with the Shell Houston Open PGA Tour event, March 31 - April 6, 2008 at Redstone Golf Club. It doesn't matter if you are a golfer or have never played the game. What matters is that you'll be helping local art students and perhaps be rewarded for your generosity!

Every year, the Shell Houston Open pro golfers make between 1,500 and 1,800 birdies during the course of the tournament. Guess the exact number of birdies the pros will make this year and you could win a brand new 2008 Buick Enclave!

Last year, THREE of our contributors guessed the exact number of birdies (1,651) and won a key that might start the Buick. It was Steve Arizpe's key that started the car, which means he won the brand new car for the second year in a row! You could be next!

The Houston Golf Association is giving Culture Shapers the opportunity to generate funds from this fun promotion. We get to keep every penny we collect! You can benefit, too. All you have to do is sign up on one of the pledge forms to become eligible to win a super prize.

Here's how it works...

1. Complete the attached pledge form, which designates Culture Shapers to receive 100% of your pledge dollars. You can make a minimum pledge of a penny per birdie made Wednesday through Sunday by the pros at the Shell Houston Open.
2. Of course, you can pledge more, or even make a flat contribution of a minimum of $20.
3. Then, guess how many total birdies will be made this year. The person who guesses correctly will win a brand new 2008 Buick Enclave!
4. The deadline for turning in your pledge form is Monday, March 31st!

What's next?

After the tournament, you will be billed by the Houston Golf Association (HGA) for the amount of your pledge. For instance, if the pros make 1,500 birdies and you pledged one penny, you will be billed for $15.00. It's that simple!

100% of your donation will go to Culture Shapers, enabling us to continue providing much-needed encouragement to art students from all across Houston through our unique visual and performing arts contests!
