Clay Rodery was a finalist in the graphic design and mixed media categories in the 2001 Culture Shapers Visual Art Contest. In addition, he was the recipient of the special 2001 FDNY Award. He used part of his prize money to enroll in the Summer Program at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida.
After graduating from Clear Creek High School in 2003, he enrolled at Ringling based on the positive experiences he gained from the previous Summer. In January 2006, Clay transferred to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where he has spent the last two years studying at one of the world’s great art museums. Next month, he will graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts.
On November 16, the School’s Annual Fall Undergraduate Exhibition opened to showcase the work of graduating seniors. The event was reviewed in an article that appeared this week in the Chicago Journal newspaper, with Clay as the featured artist!
